Breathing Practices

Breath Awareness, Abdominal Breathing, Full Yogic Breath.

Breath awareness settles the mind and develops presence. Abdominal breathing stimulates the natural relaxation response, supporting rest, recovery and healing.

Movements

Joint Releasing, Hip Opening, Spinal Movements and Core Strengthening

These sequences develop body and breath awareness, encouraging a meditative approach. Asana practice helps to overcome physical tension and mental distraction, while developing strength and stability, mobility and agility.

Relaxations

Yoga Nidra and Yoga Nyasa

Yoga Nidra is a deep relaxation which can lead to conscious sleep, particularly useful for those who have trouble sleeping.

Yoga Nyasa is a deep relaxation useful for calming the mind and releasing both physical and mental tension.

Meditation Techniques

Kaya Sthairyam, Antar Mouna Stages One and Two

When we have awareness, free from distraction, a state of meditation naturally arises. These structured techniques are designed to overcome physical tension and mental distraction.

Kaya Sthairyam (Body Stillness): Helps to overcome physical discomfort during sitting.

Antar Mouna Stage One: A traditional technique designed to manage external distraction.

Antar Mouna Stage Two: A practice to acknowledge and move beyond internal distraction, overcoming the notion that thoughts must stop during meditation.

About Johnny Glover

Johnny has been teaching yoga and meditation since 2001. After qualifying as a Yoga Teacher and later as a Yoga Therapist, he completed a two-year teacher training (2005–2007) at Mandala Yoga Ashram in Wales.

Alongside yoga, Johnny is a long-time practitioner of Tibetan Buddhism. He took refuge with Chöje Akong Tulku Rinpoche in 2003 and attended Mingyur Rinpoche’s Mahamudra course at Kagyu Samye Ling from 2007–2008. He has since completed the Foundation Training in Mindfulness with Rob Nairn and Mingyur Rinpoche’s Meditation Teacher Program with Tergar International.

Johnny is grateful for the guidance of his main teachers, Swami Nishchalananda Saraswati, founder of Mandala Yoga Ashram and a senior disciple of Swami Satyananda, and Chöje Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche, Abbot of Samye Ling and a respected meditation master in the Kagyu lineage. Johnny shares the practices with an open heart, encouraging participants to do what they can with awareness and acceptance.
